Societe Brewing Company showcases the talents of co-founders and brewers
Travis Smith and Doug Constantiner, who believe beer is the world’s great-
est social elixir, uniting people from all walks of life. At this Clairemont Mesa
brewery, you’ll find friendly folk, food trucks and free tours.
What’s Societe’s vibe? We make beers that
we are passionate about drinking, and do
our best to make our tasting room a relaxed
social setting. We don’t have TV or any sort
of live entertainment. I believe beer is best
when shared over conversations.

What’s new at Societe? We have a couple
new beers out: The Filly, which is a Belgian
witbier made with coriander and four
different types of citrus fruit, and The

Volcanist, which is our new American
stout. Additionally, we’ve started selling our
barrel-aged “Feral” beers.

What’s the story behind the names? All of
our beers represent people in society.
Anywhere from white collar to blue collar
to vagrants, our beers cover the spectrum,
since we strongly believe that beer is the
ultimate uniter. While no one person is

What’s exciting is both the number of
world-class breweries in San Diego and also
the incredibly educated and experienced
customer base that San Diego offers. I think
the San Diegans, as a whole, are light-years
ahead of the rest of the country.
