BALBOA PARK CELEBRATES 100 YEARS
In 2015, Balboa Park, often referred to as the “Smithsonian of the West,” will
celebrate its 100th anniversary of the Panama-California Exposition. The park’s
year-long centennial festival will highlight the region’s history, through the
lenses of art, commerce, culture and technology.
COUNTY ADMINISTRATION CENTER WATERFRONT PARK
This multimillion-dollar, 12-acre park set in the Embarcadero North is a
creative playground for family fun with a splash pond, towering water jets,
slides, climbing walls and modern play features. Grassy lawns, picnic tables
and beautiful bay views add to the appeal.

Architect Rob Quigley’s stunning new downtown building enhances the city’s
skyline with its iconic three-story dome. This cultural hub also features an out-
door terrace and art gallery on the penthouse level, an expansive reading room
with sweeping bay views, a garden courtyard and free concerts in the auditorium.
