Craft Brew Capital
STONE BREWING WORLD BISTRO & GARDENS
Stone’s immense facilities boast farm-to-table dining, expansive grounds, brewery
tours, movie nights and a merchandise outlet, but in the end, it’s all about the beer.
The menu is loaded with draft and bottled craft brews, including Stone’s signature Arrogant Bastard Ale and top-notch suds from other local breweries.
1999 Citracado Parkway, Escondido and 2816 Historic Decatur Road, Point Loma
The quirky décor, including a wall of comic books and a mural constructed with Post-it
notes, sets the scene for inventive brews on 16 taps like Fortune Islands, a wheat beer
infused with tropical aromatics, and Black House, an aromatic oatmeal coffee stout
made with house-roasted beans.
3725 Greenwood St., Point Loma; additional tasting room at 3000 Upas St. in North Park
Located in the former Wonder Bread building adjacent to Petco Park, this downtown brewery specializes in small-batch beers that defy expectations. The spicy Hefeweizen or hoppy
El Conquistador are two standouts among the 14 beer taps, or try a pint of hard root beer.

THE LOST ABBEY
Beer fans trek here to taste some of the most thoughtfully blended, esoteric and hard-to-
come-by barrel-aged creations on Earth, like Duck Duck Gooze, a blend of young and old
ales aged in French oak wine barrels, and
Red Barn Ale, an intoxicating spiced saison
ale brewed with orange peel and ginger.
