Your guide to the most happening local
“hop spots,” from breweries to brewpubs,
and restaurants to drink it all in…
responsibly, of course.
Karl Strauss Brewing Company
Karl Strauss was the first brewery to reintroduce San Diego
to locally brewed, handcrafted beer since brewpubs were

Breakwater Brewing Company
This spacious watering hole on the Oceanside Strand brings

Rock Bottom Restaurant &
Many mistakenly believe the beers at each
of this nationwide chain’s brewpubs are the
same, but the beer board at each location is
populated by individual brewmasters. In the
case of the La Jolla location, that’s former San
Diego Brewers Guild president Marty Men-diola, whose Moonlight Porter was named the
best robust porter in the country in 2011.
