Stone Brewing Co.
The 10th largest brewery in the nation is
branching out from its original digs in Escondido to open a 22,000-square-foot brewery
and restaurant in Liberty Station in April,
and a full bar and restaurant in the San Diego
Airport by mid-summer.
Highlights: Late-night summer movie screenings starting in June (Wednesdays in Escondido, Thursdays in Liberty Station); brewery
tours daily starting at 12 p.m. (Escondido).

Coronado Brewing Company
This Crown City brewing company opened a
new tasting room in Bay Park. Sample brews
there, or at their original brewpub in Coronado. Try the Blue Bridge Coffee Stout, which
has a java-heavy body that belies its low ABV.
Highlights: With up to 18 different beers on
tap, including hard-to-find specialty brews,
there’s something every beer lover will enjoy.

Kearny Mesa’s first brewery features a
hop-centric line of West Coast-style beers
(pale ales and IPAs) and a separate array
inspired by traditional Old World

Green Flash Brewing Company
If there’s one brewery that most embodies
San Diego’s trademark hop-’til-you-drop
brewing mentality, it’s this fast-growing
juggernaut. Green Flash produces a triple
IPA called Palate Wrecker, and even its
stouts and maltier Belgian beers benefit from
generous botanical bolstering.
