® There are many reasons San Diego is consistently rated one of the top vacation destinations in North America, but prob- ably none are more significant than our optimistic spirit. The city’s residents are devoted to both the preservation and the evolution of San Diego, as seen in National Geographic
Channel’s World’s Smart Cities: San Diego documentary.
While San Diego has 70 miles of breathtaking beaches, friendly locals and
a laid-back atmosphere that’s both warm and inviting, it’s certainly more than
a beach town. San Diego offers a range of opportunities that appeal to all ages,
interests and budgets. A host of major events include PGA tours, restaurant
and craft beer weeks, Comic-Con, Broadway-bound hits, thoroughbred racing and more. Our vibrant neighborhoods, such as uptown’s North Park and
downtown’s walkable Gaslamp Quarter, feature lively dining, music and nightlife scenes.
California’s fascinating history is brought to life in Old Town San Diego’s
shops, restaurants and historic sites, and at Cabrillo National Monument,
where Europeans first landed in California in 1542. San Diego boasts a collection of world-class attractions, including SeaWorld, the San Diego Zoo
and San Diego Zoo Safari Park, LEGOLAND California Resort and the USS
Midway Museum, to name a few.
Balboa Park, the nation’s largest urban cultural park, is home to 17 museums and The Old Globe theater. Mission Bay Aquatic Park, with 27 miles of
sandy beach shorelines, beckons water sport enthusiasts for everything from
kayaking and sailing to wakeboarding and windsurfing. You can also take a
short drive to San Diego’s East County to enjoy casino gaming and beautiful
mountain and desert landscapes.
Whether you are looking for a place to relax, energize, be entertained or
reconnect with family and friends, San Diego offers the perfect setting.
We hope you will visit us soon!
