innovative trailblazer in San Diego’s craft brew industry. He oversees the
45,000-square-foot, 100,000-barrel capacity brewery; the tasting room
and packaging facility at Cellar 3; and 120 employees. He’s also an SDTA
Ambassador and your Guide to the Good Stuff.
What’s most exciting to you about the
San Diego craft beer scene? The wild
array of different takes on beer.
What should beer lovers not miss in San
Diego? The tasting rooms in the actual
breweries. By taking in the sights, sounds
and smells, you can really get an idea of
what the brewery is truly all about.
What’s new at Green Flash? We recently
launched a brewery shuttle that loops
between the Sorrento Mesa Coaster stop, the
Green Flash Mira Mesa brewery and Cellar 3
in Poway. Now craft beer enthusiasts can visit
two awesome tasting rooms in one day and
leave the car at home.
Favorite brewpubs? It’s a three-way tie
between Hamiltons, O’Brien’s and Pizza
Port. They are the OGs. They were doing this
before everyone jumped on the bandwagon.
And they still do it better than anyone.
Best food pairing with your Soul Style IPA?
A Hodad’s burger. No doubt. I’m going

Societe is the best of the new generation—
